Experience flights: Any advice?

Hi all.

I was having a look aound at some flights on the net earlier and wondered if anybody could reccomend any good ones, or if anyboday has been up in anything interesting?

I've seen that duxford do some like the Harvard, Tiger Moth and Rapide but I was interested to also see what else was about.

Think Cambridge do Tiger Moth trips too but shhhhhh I think they wear Civvy marks.

I've done a bit of flying in my youth in Tutors and work has given me a couple of oppertunities to go flying over the years. I got some cash for my Birthday and was looking at having a cruise in something more nostalgic rather than a trial flight in a Cherokee.

That is true Tony. Just been looking on the site and they do some pretty cool stuff, prices seem to range from £200-£600 (or upto almost £1000 for 2 people on certain ones)

I've always thought about spending some cash doing that, but have always remembered the time we were the last cross channel ferry into Dover before the ports were closed due to rough seas - some poor buggers got caught out there overnight! Always thought that sick feeling would ruin it for me.

I looked into this as a potential birthday present. I found that quite a few companies are agencies and not the actual operators, you can save a bit of cash by going direct. If it's open cockpit you're after there's a Stearman operates out of Manston, Kemble too I think, and if silence appeals, the gliding club at Challock in Kent have some really good deals on experience flights. A bit different is the helicopter flight out of Manston to do air to air photography with a Spitfire V flown by Charlie Brown over Dover and along the coast, but that is a bit pricey in my opinion.
