Nimrod Crash Chiefs May Face Jail

SENIOR employees at two private defence firms face life in prison if the parents of servicemen who died in a Nimrod air crash in Afghanistan successfully bring corporate manslaughter charges against them.

They are demanding the Crown Prosecution Service in England investigates whether senior workers at both firms, condemned for their role in the tragedy, should face criminal charges in connection with the deaths of the servicemen, 12 of whom were based at RAF Kinloss

If convicted of corporate manslaughter, each company faces the prospect of an unlimited fine. And if an individual is convicted of gross negligence manslaughter, the equivalent of corporate manslaughter, he or she could face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.

This is going WAY too far. Most of the families want closure and to put the crash behind them, one father is kicking up most of the trouble against the wishes of many of the other families.

The entire blame culture which has arisen from the openness surrounding operation casualties in recent years has gone way too far and should in my opinion be stopped.

The government (if it had any balls) would stop this before it goes too far.

No they won't the company will get a huge fine under H&S.Nobody went down over Paddington, or Hatfield and Southall,so this won't be any different.
