There's no "go-round" in a glider.

The memorial cairn is located about 200m from the crash site up the slope close to the hedge.

2024.

In memory of
WO2 Andreij PRENCZEK, AAC
WO2 Stuart DONNAN, AAC
SSGT Peter CLYNE REME
who lost their lives here in the Lynx helicopter accident
on the 18th May 1999.
They are sadly missed
But will never be forgotten.

The Squadron included the site as part of the closing flight to celibrate the end of the era of Lynx.

A fitting tribute.
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Did the fourth person on the Lynx recover in time?

I hope so. I didn’t like to ask the last time any squadron members visited. I’m going over there this morning and will make enquiries should anyone be there during my visit.

Thanks for looking.

An interesting visit, no rain, just heavy mist. Parked up at the crossroads opposite the gate. Into the first field through the puddle of effluent emanating from the muck pile and up the slope. No ewes and lambs this time but obvious signs of cattle.
Cresting the rise the double gap in the hedge emerged though the mist and then a heifer & calf; then another, and still more.
Um! Oh bullocks! But no, I was wrong. They were bulls in with a large number of calves and mothers.
The farmer had erected large metal gates around the three exposed sides of the memorial site so I continued along the hedge and climbed into the fenced area inside the gravelled area.
The herd moved in, forty or more hemming me in.
The glass flower pots left by me on a previous visit had gone so I deposited the flower bunches on the gravel alongside a mug. Most likely the mug was left by a relative, it had a lion and STU on it.
We were taught to always have an exit strategy, known as “Plan B”. Until today I hadn’t realised the meaning of the “B”. It is of course, male cattle!
Mine was to go over the low wooden fence and crawl through the hedge.

I might go into business with an adventure company for over aged nut cases. Anyway here are images no showing too much anatomical detail.

Error corrected , thanks
Someone brought it to my attention but I forgot to amend it. All the correspondence with the squadron was correct though.
