I guess this change happened because they could not muster four F35's and/or four pilots because they are all at sea!
Just read the RAF Marham post of this morning which estimates that there should be 13 operational F35's at the base.

Minus the one that went to the USA, a couple of days after they deployed to HMS PoW. its now 9 F-35s as per Slogen51s list when they deployed, + the four deliveries on Sunday

I managed to get a spot at the barrier on Trafalgar Square where they turn onto the Mall for the parade with only 2 people in front of me. I arrived 25 minutes before parade started. A few minutes later I looked behind me to see the crowd was 100 deep if not more, so I got very lucky. Enjoyed the parade.

After I took the short walk to Waterloo bridge, I did enjoy the flypast but it wasn't the best one I've been to.

Not a knock on the Reds actual display, but I actually prefer seeing them in unique formations with other aircraft like the VE Day flypast with 4 Typhoons.

Over-all a good trip, I got to see a lot of London. Had a runway view from my Heathrow hotel, so all in all a good trip and a good flypast, just not up there with the Jubilee and RAF100.

I don’t really remember much of the day except that there was a choice of fish paste or potted meat sandwiches with jelly or blancmange with condensed milk.
My father left the RAF about twelve months later to find that his old job was not available so he had to start a new career.

Seven people sharing a three roomed terrace house for the following six years. Happy days
