I was surprised to see this to say the least. No major news websites reporting it yet but various sources say the USA flew several C-17s to Bagram with Taliban permission, although the latter have denied the story. We’ll have to wait and see.

It could be Trump seeking to have the Taliban return military equipment left behind in Afghanistan? One of his election promises.
“If we’re going to pay billions of dollars a year, tell them we’re not going to give them the money unless they give back our military equipment,” Trump said, referring to humanitarian aid. “So, we will give them a couple of bucks; we want the military equipment back.”
