Ospreys Grounded (again)
Reports on US TV news tonight (Monday 9/12) that the US DoD has 'temporarily paused' all Osprey flight operations after an incident at Cannon AFB last week in which one of the machines came close to being lost while preparing to land. Preliminary investigations as to the cause have identified broken components as a result of metal fatigue; the broken metal then caused additional damage to other components. No timeframe has been set for the checking of all Ospreys in service.
