One-Eleven 539GL ZH763 would've been much better-off where it was previously "stored in Cornwall." Actually, there's only about 8.5% of fact in that whole BBC text diarrhoea. It was an intact display aircraft for the CAHC Museum which was closed by Cornwall County Council for a private Agenda possibly linked to 'pie in the sky' Government funded Investment Zones?.....imo.
Parking a largely destroyed piece of junk like that on the back of a pavement in a City is somewhere between an eyesore & Littering! The 'Cafe Plan' merely an excuse to obtain an insignificant piece of debris. This air-frame had been the last One-Eleven flying in the UK, being taken out of service in December 2012. On 26 April 2013 it was flown to Newquay for preservation with The Classic Air Force (then towed a mile to the Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre) – the last ever One-Eleven flight in the UK. If that wasn't sufficient to warrant preserving the whole aircraft, then why bother with a little chunk of it? They've already got the wing root forward section of ZE432 ex. ETPS 1-11 at Bournemouth Aviation Museum, Bournemouth, Dorset. That being directly adjacent to where the majority of BAC 1-11's were built, plus there are currently 3 further complete 1-11 aircraft in UK Museums.

"Eyesore & littering...insignificant piece of debris" - seriously? What a rant! What is wrong with saving whatever part(s) that can be saved? As stated there is no space for the whole airframe. Many museums have fuselages or sections thereof as education/information exhibits such as the 1-11 at Hurn. Museums are not just for enthusiasts/keyboard warriors.

Your comments re the Cornwall County Council aren't exactly correct Supra... Kinda like building your dream home without first consulting the council for planning permission perhaps.. Or Rather sitting around waiting for the not entirely expected oye get off my land...
I have chatted to several of the volunteers that worked there.
This is one of the accounts they give as to what happened as yet again ill informed folks posted a load of twaddle...
When CAHC moved To HAS no 3 we were given 5 years to find another place to move to, they, the Directors tried to renew a NEW lease for No 3 HAS in which the Museum was situated, during those 5 years It was both sides of trying to iron out the sticking points....the Council gave them a years extension, but time ran out. Even though they had found a new place to move in the last 3 months before the closing date, it was near the Air Ambulance station, a promise of 1 million pounds was offered to help with the move, but the Museum had to remain open as a going concern. CAHC needed another extension. THE Council Refused.
CAHC time had run out, the Directors never thought the day would come and the Council would not force them out, wrong they did and so CAHC CLOSED.
I hope that kinda clears what really happened up. Bad, but there ya go

Does that mean anything incomplete is littering Supra ?
Comet at Old Sarum, Hermes at Duxford or endless other airframes both here and abroad....

Questionable, the HAS site was far from a perfect location for these aircraft. The VC10's undercarriage was found shortly after the museum's closure to have rotted to the point of being completely unsafe. The death blow was the closure of Classic Air Force at Hangar 404. Had funding been found for a move to a less exposed location sooner there might've been some hope, but even if the rest of the museum aircraft could have stayed the two larger ones had doubtful futures.
For reference, Cornwall County Council has not existed since 2009.
