Radex001 over Boscombe Down

🇺🇦 🌻 🇺🇦

Showing on ADSB in the last few minutes was RADEX001. A swept wing a/c coloured red. The info offered a height of 99000’.

? A radar transmission? Perhaps a Red Arrow trying to hide?

There's no "go-round" in a glider.

It would appear to be a Drone operating in a small area between the runway & Winterslow Rd. Now showing on the Ground at an altitude of '99,000 ft'? :D

43C5D1 used to belong to Basset XS743, based at Boscombe. Last flight was in 2014, when it was transferred to Qinetic Apprentice School.

The airframe went to Old Sarum Museum in 2022, but I suspect that the transponder may still be in use by the apprentices at Qinetic.

It’s the RADEX facility ground station at QinetiQ working with the Crowsnest trials aircraft ZH833 which is currently ~30 miles to the west.
Presumably they are using the Basset’s old unit.
