Personally I think the Chipmunks were far better at the job - and they lasted longer too!
Re: Typhoon and Reds Grounded
have any typhoons been up today? someone on FB said they had seen 2 over Salisbury around lunch time and forces news have said they have been cleared for flying but Coningsby is very quiet.
Re: Typhoon and Reds Grounded
Not heard/seen anything today, just a single (Typhoon 89?) Yesterday
Re: Typhoon and Reds Grounded
Apparently none have flown from Lossiemouth today either, not even the daily Polish CAP sortie.
Re: Typhoon and Reds Grounded
None flown in Germany for a few days either.
Re: Typhoon and Reds Grounded
cheers guys, thought that was the case. some people choose to believe articles on facebook rather than people "in the know";.
Re: Typhoon and Reds Grounded
I noted a few Typhoons out of Coningsby this afternoon.
Re: Typhoon and Reds Grounded
A few have been flying from Lossiemouth this afternoon too.
Re: Typhoon and Reds Grounded
think the ones out of Coningsby have been Q currency flights. guess that classis as essential flights.
Re: Typhoon and Reds Grounded
Three separate flights today at CBY had callsigns Typhoon, Wolf and Cobra.
All of these are recognised squadron callsigns, and are not QRA associated.

The US AirForce has grounded all F-35s (+T38, Texan) for checks of the MB ejector seats...
Re: Typhoon and Reds Grounded
Has anyone found out what the problem was, or is as per the F35 reports

Really doesn't matter what the problem is!
It will get fixed and when it is the jets will be in the air again ... simples.
