There was talk some years ago about upgrading some of the facilities/HAS etc. at Spang to accommodate F-22 ops. I don’t think this happened unless anyone knows otherwise but I guess some infrastructure work may be carried out in the future if Spang becomes preferred location for surge operations for fighters in the European theatre.

In the past couple of years deployments of F- 22 (TY) & F-35 (HL) have taken place at Spang also F-15 (SJ) . To train for the serious business.
Spang has huge infrastructure it accommodates 4 fighter squadrons in the 90s.

Indeed - & yes I was aware of these deployments. I was referring to some there being a fiscal year budget line from some years ago around the time that Mildenhall was scheduled to close & the SOG were to be relocated - there were some additional works planned at SP which if memory serves was to upgrade some of the HAS for F-22 ops.

Doubt it, F-22s have far more intensive security requirements compared to other assets in their inventory (F-18s, A-10s etc). Having a decent amount of US Security Forces on station would be more favourable. Somewhere a bit like LKH.
