Are Lakenheath likely to.......?

Post by Unknown74 » Wed Feb 09, 2022 8:43 am

Hi Morning all, I know there are F-35As about to be based at RAF Lakenheath but are there likely to be any F-15EX Eagles based in future?

F35A's are already based at lakenheath, 4 so far with another delivery today, and no, there are currently no plans to base EX's at LN, the EX will, I believe, replace F15 C's and D's in the air superiority role.

It's been rumoured the EX might eventually replace the E https://www.airforcemag.com/f-15ex-coul ... usaf-says/, so they may end up based at Lakenheath in the distant future.

Believe the C out performs the E in dog fighting ,E is Heavy and more drag,Can't imagine the EX being any different. You would think the EX would be a great replacement for the E mind.
