From the movements thread it seems like the Aussies are landing at Brize

The TAF for Newquay isn't that great tonight , very low cloud and or fog
https://en.allmetsat.com/metar-taf/unit ... ?icao=EGHQ

Among the other countries invited to the summit is Australia, with Prime Minister Scott Morrison arriving via Singapore for talks with leader Lee Hsien Loong. He'll attend three sessions at the G7 - on health, the economy and climate - and meet with leaders individually on the sidelines.

The RAAF Airbus will go to Newquay won't it? Please!

While out walking the dog this morning I was thinking of going to see the E4 at Mildenhall.I then started to think about AF1 s short visit on Wednesday. I know that in theory it was to “meet the troops” but it seemed an unusual visit late in the day. He made his speech and then left for Newquay. I was wondering if this arrangement was actually a secondary action. AF1 could have flown directly to Newquay from the US ,but it would then require fuel. There must be a considerable draw on Newquays fuel reserves with all the visiting VIP aircraft for this event, so was it safer / quicker to fly via Mildenhall, fill the tanks and then go on to Cornwall ? Knowing the Americans they would want AF1 fuelled up immediately on arrival ready for a quick getaway if necessary. So my thoughts are , did the White House take advantage of a fuel stop and change it into a public affairs visit ?

I'm fairly sure that fully refuelling it at Mildenhall would have taken it over it's maximum landing weight, so it would have had to dump fuel before landing at Newquay!

Would only need to refuel enough for the following sector,to LHR, on top of the mildenhall newquay sector, probably looking at around 50,000kg of fuel which after the Newquay sector I believe is well within the landing weight, so no Need to dump fuel.

If anyone is going to Newquay then I think the best place to see the Japanese 777 is the lane leading to Penvose Farm holidays off the B3276 on the north side. From here you can see all the G7 aircraft although the VC-25 and C-32 are behind buildings so best seen from the other end

From here you can also see the museum store

Now the vips are at st Ives police presence is more relaxed and you can get around the airfield - won't be so easy on Sunday beware.

Would have had to have enough to cover a poss divert if it did not get in to Newquay and looking at it Thursday they must have been thinking of it at some point ??

According to the news Aussie prime minister Scott Robinson went by car from Brize to Newquay.

His plane had been set to land at Cornwall's Newquay airport but this was cancelled because of heavy fog, requiring a drive of several hours for the prime minister to reach summit venue at Carbis Bay, Cornwall.

I wonder if it will reposition to Cornwall to save on taxi fares back to Brize

I see that the Two RAF fighters (Typhoons) are still flying around just off Wadbridge - ADS-B radar plotter shows.

His name is Scott Morrison ( Scomo ) to the Aussies ,but I had to smile , he’s virtually unknown out of Australia , so it’s no surprise his name is misquoted .

Does anyone know why Biden went to Mildenhall and then to Newquay, not direct to Newquay?

I'm not sure that justifies the dozens of secret service people waiting for him at Mildenhall?

My assumption was that Newquay is known for awful weather so they wanted a backup plan?

If you're looking for justification when it comes to a US Presidential visit, you'll have a hard job. I mean between 15 and 20 support flights, VIP helicopters stationed at two locations, escort Ospreys at another plus their support. Then there's the C-32s, C-40s etc etc and you're focusing on a quick visit into Mildenhall and then another hop to Newquay?
Cheers

And yet they still flew down to Cornwall and arrived in awful weather after talking to and with, base personnel. Whatever the reasons and efforts, does it really matter?
