Wouldn’t it be better placed in this one thread? Rather than Mildenhall, Lakenheath, Fairford etc.

The Air Force’s F-15Cs are aging and expected to run out of service life by the mid-2020s.
Jacksonville Air National Guard Base, Florida, will begin receiving F-35 Lightning IIs in 2024; Kingsley Field, Oregon, will host the Air Force’s first F-15EX formal training mission beginning in 2022; and the unit at Portland Air National Guard Base will become the first operational F-15EX squadron in 2023.
The Air Force plans to replace the Air National Guard’s aging F-15C Eagles in Florida and Oregon with the service’s newest air superiority aircraft.
Currently, four active duty operational locations — Hill Air Force Base, Utah; RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom; Eielson AFB, Alaska; and Tyndall AFB, Florida — have been identified to host the F-35A.

Guys sorry to put a dampener on a possible reprieve don’t get your hopes up too much re Mildenhall, Remember it was Obama’s Administration which decided on the closure and who was the Vice President? - Joe Biden!
Sorry - just being cautious.

Thanks Paddy, the voice of reason..

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

What's the betting Trump gets in again?
Re: RAF Mildenhall to close. Lakenheath to get F-35 by 2020
Surely further discussion of totally unrelated subjects and theories on the outcome of elections is outside of a thread which as far as Mildenhall is concerned is finished. Concentrate on LN and the F-35s.
I'm just waiting for the inevitable 'Not if X or Y is elected' you could add a 'the future is uncertain' caveat to almost any statement!
What we want is planes to watch.

Get your suggestions in
More here https://www.airforcemag.com/usaf-to-rea ... f-35-unit/The Air Force will reactivate its 495th Fighter Squadron to support the F-35 mission at RAF Lakenheath, U.K., 48th Fighter Wing spokesperson Maj. Sybil V. Taunton confirmed to Air Force Magazine via email Sept. 15.
“Overall we will see a plus-up of roughly 1,200 personnel to operate and support two full squadrons of F-35s,” she wrote, noting that the base’s first Joint Strike Fighters are still slated to reach the base late next year.
The 48th Fighter Wing has held off on a formal public announcement about the squadron’s reactivation because it’s on an ongoing search for a squadron mascot, she said. However, she noted, the wing is open to proposals from the aviation-loving public.
“We were really intending to target our U.K. aviation enthusiast community for ideas, given our location, but we will welcome suggestions from back home in the U.S. as well,” she wrote.
Anyone can submit their ideas via an email to 48fw.pa@us.af.mil, or by tweeting the wing @48FighterWing, Taunton wrote...
