This might be unpopular but having grown up with the BBMF Spits and the flyers from Duxford at air shows MkII, V, XI, XIX. Although historically important, they become the norm a bit, where as the shiny silver later marks F22 & F24 were something exotic and you had to search to find, so have always had a soft spot for them.

I think there were about six F22's with spare crated Griffons in Syria some years ago that various warbird enthusisast and dealers had tried to buy. I met someone who had tried to open negotiations with the Syrian government with a view to pulling together a syndicate to buy them but couldn't get through all the layers of interested parties in the Syrian military and gave up. With recent events I doubt they exist now.
In this world there's two kinds of people, my friend. Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.

Thanks all for sharing your views, hope you don't mind but I've done some maths. Due to the limited number of replies, the maths aren't really comparable. Actual Mk's results where as such
:- I=1, Ia=1, IIa=1, V=1, IX=2, XII=1, XIV=2 ,XIX=2(1*)
The XIX may of nudged it but I did think it appropriate to cast my view. Other mentions were made to teardrop grifs and Merlin's and 22/24. Oh yes and a four wheel convertible in a rainy valley..
Cheers guys and above all keep safe..
