Getting used to lockdown , haven't missed pubs at all. A damn sight cheaper to drink in the garden and you havent got all those show offs posing regulars to put up with ! !

I've not been to a pub for about 7 months (have only been to a pub about 5 times in the last 3 years), almost £20 for 3 pints for me and my lads (both in their 30's now) and a small G & T for the wife.
You can buy a litre of Gordon's gin in Asda for under £19 and that has 40 x 25cl measures that the pubs charge stupid money for, never mind the ridiculous price that pubs charge for the tiny bottle of tonic.
Pubs used to give free lemonade and soda (both were on the counter in most bars and anyone could help themselves for free) until the drink-drive laws became really strict in the late 70s/early 80s.

I think that a lot of people won't be returning to pubs when they're allowed to re-open, they've just realised how much money they've saved !

Yes Mike indeed , I can get 2 pint bottles of Stella for £5 in the family shopper, in my local it's £3.20 a pint , I only go to the pubs for the pretty barmaids and of course a decent pint of ale .

18 (440ml) cans for £14 in sainsburys at the moment....and yes, I am off my trolley...

LOL...yeah..I'm actually "tented up" outside the hungry horse in Mildenhall waiting for them to re-open, it's like a scene from Glastonbury...there are loads of us...

1. 'Stay at home' has now become 'Be Alert' - leaving home was never illegal per sé.

Leaving home without reasonable excuse, was and still is an offence under the Covid-19 legislation.

Had a lovely steak in a ln Mildenhall once with my late Uncle and my friend John Dawes who used to run the Lakenheath hotel. there were many cats sleeping on the empty chairs in the restaurant! As a cat lover it didn't bother me , would that be the half moon I can't remember ? It was 20 years ago!! Where does the time ago.

Have you noticed Reds activity on a regular basis?

I've been popping all of the reds movements I have seen from home/heard on the scanner in the heads up section, should give you an idea on activity levels.

I have also seen a photo of three cars parked down by the crash gate at Scampton last week, so people were already 'spotting'.

This headline was copied from a Wales Online news web site:-

So if in England you can do the above things I can't see why you can't sit at the end of a runway somewhere as long as you keep to the social distancing rules.
In my experience if these rules have been drawn up by the government and the Whitehall mandarins they will be so ambiguous you will be able to interpret them in all sorts of different ways.

We are (tomorrow) allowed to go fishing.
We are (tomorrow) allowed to travel an unlimited distance.
Fishing is a hobby/sport not a form of exercise.
Therefore sitting in the car park at Lakenheath or wherever whilst maintaining social distancing must be OK
The only problem I can see is the fact that so many people are not at work it may get a bit too busy at the favored spots.
I suspect the Police are fed up with having to move perfectly sensible self isolating people from parks, beaches and other open spaces.

Remember the Government advice is now STAY ALERT not STAY AT HOME
I will be socially distancing for a good few months yet wherever I choose to go.

Simple really. Or am I missing something?

P..S. I have a friend who works at Lakenheath and he has seen cars in the spotters car park most days. He guessed they must of been going to or from work/essential shopping and just stopped off for a minute

Exactly. Its just about common sense.

I plan to go to Lakenheath as soon as I am next able to get a day off. However, I will be maintaining social distance at all times, and won't be travelling with anyone outside my household.

Ultimately this virus is going to be around for months, if not years. The idea of staying in but for work, shopping and exercise until Covid is 'over' is ridiculous. We need to continue with life, but do so with common sense, respect for others and personal safety.
