Just as well the list is for current aircraft only.

As recently as the 1960's and 70's, the entire Britannia fleet were named (all after stars, apart from "Argo"), and the Belfast fleet named after mythological or biblical giants.

Seems that the general trend is to name larger transport or maritime / AEW types, as opposed to fighters.

Hope that this continues with the remainder of the Poseidon fleet.

Do IX(B) as was still have the Johnnie Walker jet with the still going strong logo as the Tornado GR.1 had at Bruggen

No they haven't done that for sometime, Infact I don't think they have done it since the late 90s

In the 1980's the 8 Squadron Shacks were named after characters from the Magic Roundabout :D
