Ladders at Waddington
Re: Ladders at Waddington
When I arrived at the Wave I was requested by the entrance staff to not stand higher than the 2nd step on a stepladder against the hedge. I am 6ft and in practice I was only just above the hedge, but ok. Another time I stood ladderless on the road verge, airfield side, mainly ok, no human obstruction but wheel obscurd by fencing. Finally I stood on the 4th rung, far side road, near the traffic lights, clear view and I didn't block anyone. What's the problem?

The problems only arise when a few pig ignorant and rude ladder users feel their own sense of self-importance over-rides the entitlement of others to take their own photos. It's hardly like many photos seen on various platforms are anything special, but in the age of digital imaging and cameras that do most/all of the work, many photographers think they've turned into a David Bailey clone. I'm one of those who takes ordinary photos that are nothing special, by the way.
Re: Ladders at Waddington
Just seen what every ladder user needs! a small cherry picker mounted on the back of a Landrover.
It was up at gutter level of a house. With probably enough room on the cab roof for a couple more people to sit.

One of the reasons I walked away from base visits. Arrogant tw*ts standing on ladders in front of everyone when not really needed. One of them at Fairford arrivals a few years ago said "I've travelled miles to get here and I'm not missing the shot." So, basically up yours !
A reflection of modern life I'm afraid. Self centered, rude and impatient individuals spoiling it for the majority of us.
At the end of the day I was sick of people basically so gave up on going and have to say am so much more relaxed. It just wasn't fun anymore.

Talking of arrogant people I was at one of the Waddington Airshows in one of the hangars, there was a lot of people in their and this particular individual was shoving & pushing to get through. This prat was looking to get a slap and thrown out of the hangar.

And did he get one and get thrown out, or did others do nothing? - allowing the individual to continue doing it, thinking it is the norm if they get away with it...Vulcan74 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 28, 2019 3:36 pmTalking of arrogant people I was at one of the Waddington Airshows in one of the hangars, there was a lot of people in their and this particular individual was shoving & pushing to get through.
