Nimrod over City Centre

Hi guys, was walking in Edinburgh City Centre this Evening (10/3/10) and to my surprise what went over but a Nimrod. Does anybody know what this was for? Is there something going on for the Nimrod Retirement and was this a rehearsal?

I was at Kinloss this afternoon , and I understand there was a ' press flight '
operated by XV 231 which took off about 4pm.
This might have been the one you saw..
229 also took off but that was at 14.00

It was roughly 5pm when this went over Edinburgh so that might well have been 231.

I was at work at the airport when he came in at 4000ft, but turned too early to get the serial.
Possible overflight rehearsal for Scotland v England on saturday? Just a guess as he turned overhead Murrayfield.
Callsign was Kinloss 453.

Spot on Dave Allbutt there's due to be a Flypast over the Match at Murrayfield Tomorrow. Something for us Scots to look forward to - even the result doesn't!?
