Not sure why he'd need the cars on the East Coast when you can easily land a helicopter (or helicopters) right next to Holyrood Palace. I'd assumed the cars would be needed for the Glasgow airport to the conference leg.

Although I didn’t wait until it departed, all that I saw offloaded were x2 sets of aircraft steps mounted on small truck/van chassis. They aren’t any taller than a standard set that would be used for a narrow body airliner unless they can be extended.

Didn't see the steps offloaded as it was round at Signature but the C-17 was up faster than the Star Air B767!
