ATC just need to re-route an easyJet A320 (other airlines & aircraft types are available) over the city centre and most people wouldn't know the difference!

Was it originally a C-17 tasked tonight, or was it to be the Atlas?

Quite sure it was a C17, although it wouldn't surprise me if it's another turn for the A400M. I reckon I'll find out shortly. Thankfully a decent change to the earlier weather! Still going to be a bit wet under foot all the same.
Well that's PLANE to see!

Just caught the very briefest of glances between the houses across the road from me as it climbed back eastward.

Although conditions for filming / taking photo's were pants, that A400 looked good against the clear darkening sky when it passed above & in front of us around Gorgie. Seemed quite low, so we could clearly make out what type it was, but that's about it. Moved quite slow too, or was that just me thinking that?

One more to go now & that's it over for another year. Hope the sky is as clear next week as it was tonight.

Vandal, I'm not holding out much hope of getting the P8 Poseidon this coming Thursday. The nights are drawing in, and I believe I'll struggle a bit to get any definition. What I'll probably get is a 737 outline (if I'm lucky) and nav lights. It may not even follow the pattern of the recent flypasts over Edinburgh airport. I'll take my chances and get what I can. It's also weather dependent, so let's hope Thursday is decent.
He was taking a leisurely pace, so you're not alone in thinking he was slow moving. So, here's hoping for a decent Thursday night, and then it's the drive down to Prestwick for the airshow, then I have to go cold turkey until August next year :(
Well that's PLANE to see!

I have a printout of the initial flypast schedule which indicates the Poseidon is due on Friday the 23rd of August. I now see mention of Thursday (22nd). Have things changed? C17s have been replaced by A400s which is obviously for a very good reason unknown to us. Operational needs come first.

 Sorry Ally! I thought Thursday was the 23rd! My error.
It is indeed Friday! So apologies to all for me thinking it was Thursday.
Yeah, with the current state of the world, it would make sense to utilise the heavier movers such as the C17.

Last one for the year tonight. If it goes ahead, fingers crossed that the wind eases off a bit, it's fairly blowy out there just now.

Good luck to all those hoping to view the last one tonight. I'll be staying home again - my success record this year has been bad enough!

Well the Typhoon dodged me! Was in Blackpool the Weekend the Red Arrows flew over, managed to see them there! Saw both A.400Ms, So who knows what will happen tonight? Watch this (Air)space?

Also will it be dark when whatever is doing the Flypast goes over?
