I have a printout from a week or so back where it says we are due a visit from 2 Typhoons from IX (Bomber) Sqn from Lossie. Lets hope it happens and they will be heard and not seen.

So I guess unless they’re running late there is no Flypast tonight then? RAF in Scotland got it wrong & there is no Flypast until 25th as originally posted.

I reckon we've had it really good this year. By my reckoning, only one cancellation (15th August), thus far, with only one more to go, if the listing for the flypast on the 25th is accurate.

Cannot complain at that.

Hats off to all those involved in organising & carrying out this year's flypasts. Much appreciated.👍

I'd agree with that but with one reservation: The shift to all the late flypasts being 21:30 this year when they were all 21:00 last year (except for the final one being 21:30). Of course, that's unlikely to be anything to do with the RAF, either it's the Tattoo organisation or some changes imposed on them. Just a shame it's made photography all but pointless after the Red Arrows flypast.

My opinion is that the time has been changed from 9 to 9.30 due to the fact that people who attend the show can't all find their seats at or just prior to the start of the show so the organisers have decided to move the start time back half an hour so that everyone gets the chance to see the whole show including the flypast. either that or it's a new director/ organiser who has his own ideas of how to run the Tattoo? Only a guess mind.

There wasn’t a sneaky Flypast at 6.15 was there?

Don't think I'll bother heading out to try to capture this one. it was already dark early last night. It would take the sun exploding to make it worthwhile!

Being honest, unless you're on the Royal Mile, in the vicinity of the Grassmarket where you have a clear view of the Castle Esplanade, or actually at the Tattoo, you stand little to no chance of seeing them. Assuming they light the burners, that will look good against a dark sky.

Was that read off or taken from a tracking site? If the latter then very unreliable.

Trackers disagree: ADS-B had it banking towards North Berwick (early if not in a holding pattern), FR24 frozen off North Berwick/Dunbar coast. :S

As per my last post. Neither have updated for a couple of minutes or more.

As I say that, gone from FR24, but heading north again and looping back on ADS-B .

Very unreliable! :P

Going to stick my head out the door in case it flies this way towards the airport afterwards.
