Re: Red arrows flypast
They should add a couple of Lossie Typhoons and a Poseidon to the Red Arrows now that would be a Flypast!

Re: Red arrows flypast
Just got in, made a cup of tea and was about to head to the computer to review my shots from Calton Hill and just saw a motorcade whizzing past my front gate, which I wasn't expecting! Perhaps William & Kate heading to the airport?
Re: Red arrows flypast
Wow can't believe it I actually got 2 Flypasts in one day! Was out this morning and just got home just before 1pm put ASDB on and they were just heading up the East Coast awesome managed to get out to my garden area, when they flew over for their run and break, it's like a flypast the way they do it - and stupid me left my phone (with camera on) in my flat!? Then after a quick trip out to see them at Edinburgh Airport as well as a Family visit I headed for Corstorphine Hill to catch the main event - awesome day, just a little tired now and hungry. But totally glad I did it and saw the Reds........
Also any one know which Red Arrows Hawks were involved in the Flypast? ID's anyone?

XX177, 219, 278, 310, 311 & 322 are six of them (taken from photos on the Edinburgh Airport Aviation Enthusiasts group on Facebook).
Re: Red arrows flypast
Nice! I made a boo-boo by forgetting to check on here this morning so I was unaware the Reds were using the airport instead of coming direct from Waddington.

After a quick review of the shots pre-edit, there was quite a heat/atmospheric haze softening the images until they were close to level with me on Calton Hill, but by that point I can make out The Blues Circus (engineers) in the 'jump seats', evidence - were it needed - that they were heading straight back to Waddington rather than Edinburgh Airport post-flypast.
I did have a French lady ask me what we were all waiting for (though she "knew all about the King")! She was grateful for the heads-up. I wonder how many tourists up there got an unexpected treat today?

Doubt I can help with the IDs - I didn't zoom in on individual aircraft and there was still just enough haze to soften the image more than I expect Photoshop will overcome.
