A400M

Post by Aly Bally » Tue Oct 04, 2022 11:24 am

We appear to have an Atlas flying around. I heard him as he has quite a different sound and only managed to see him through the murk. According to FR24 he has been circling around. I got him over S.E. Edinburgh on the way to the coast.

Possibly ZM417, Ascot 487 currently showing on ADS-B as having launched from EDN.

After hearing about this being at Edinburgh and having missed it due to just leaving work at the time I decided to pop out for a quick look, pretty awesome if you ask me. Stayed the course and waited until it departed😁.

Also I don’t know wether it was Military or not - I apologise if it’s not but my attention was also drawn to an orange and white coloured Beechcraft King Air looking plane over the far side, it did have a sensor looking thing on the underside, any idea what it was?

Civilian operated & owned under a government contract, much like our Draken Falcon 20's I suppose.

Or similar to the Dutch Coast Guard Do.228 or our Rescue Helicopters with the Coast Guard sort of idea?
