Thanks Al, what a stunning treat the population of Edinburgh, and everyone at the tattoo is in for.

Re: Tattoo Flypasts?
Strange callsign Mike - I would expect a number at the end

Re: Tattoo Flypasts?
Not all military callsigns have numbers at the end.

Re: Tattoo Flypasts?
Sounds like delay until half past & starting run in 25 past?
Re: Tattoo Flypasts?
I know times move forward but Leuchars was a far busier station than Lossie is now.
On the F35 front I think it very unlikely it will take part in small displays. Major events like RIAT possibly Cosford and Veovilton but recon that will be it. Dont think they would even consider East Fortune.
It would also be a real nuisance for one to have an issue and a divert within Scotland for logistical purposes

There's plans for an F-35B solo within the next couple of years, never say never.

Re: Tattoo Flypasts?
Have to agree with Mike and not sure why the pair were not used ? but I'm pretty sure no one missed the noise ,at least the pilot gave it a go it also seemed a fairly quick pass ...comparing it with the now normal silent Typhoons ...gone are the days of them lighting up over the castle

Sorry if its a problem posting this I'm sure someone can move it if it is

Re: Tattoo Flypasts?
It may be the case that they aren't required to do that, but a pair did overfly Rosyth specifically over HMS Quen Elizabeth, There would be no real difference overflying the castle for the Tattoo. It's more likely to be down to Cost and availability. Let's see what happens in the next 2-3 years. I'm sure one will turn up on the flypast roster if they continue, just as I'm sure one may take part at both the Sunderland and East Fortune airshows.CGM wrote: ↑Fri Aug 02, 2019 10:52 amOur F35B's have not and will not be doing low level sorties. The aircraft is not required to do this operationally.
What's the point in changing the week? We had absolute scorching weather the whole week leading up to the airshow, it's just bad luck. I'm sure that luck will change soon.
As to what good would changing the week or month be in relation to East Fortune? Well, taking into account recent weather patterns, yes, bad luck, but a recurring theme none the less.If I were planning an event, I'd certainly be taking into account recent weather form. Hey ho, just an opinion.
Well that's PLANE to see!
