May not be related, but saw two of the large Oshkosh fuel tankers and several military lorries heading east on the A303 at Ilminster earlier today.

Perhaps they had a FARP set up at Dunkeswell?

You are probably right seacat, vehicles fitting your description were seen leaving D,well this morning, apparantly today was cancelled due to the weather foercast
