F16 crash

Post by WhiskeyMike59 » Tue Oct 08, 2019 2:43 pm

At 13.09Z, a 52nd FW F-16 crashed shortly after departure from Spangdahlem, near the village of Zemmer, just south of the base. The pilot ejected safely and was flown to the base hospital in a civilian rescue helicopter

One thing is certain, it wasn't 833, never mind what's written elsewhere

Thanks WM69.

Looking closer at the sources on ASN, I see that they seem to be implying hex AE16E9 was the hex of the aircraft involved.

When the SPs were temporarily relocated at Lakenheath 2 years ago, this hex was confirmed with 91-0403. Would this serial make sense?

Hex E9 is indeed 833 and callsign WARHAWK11" today, but he was squawking emergency 7700 for the mishap aircraft, callsign "WARHAWK12".
Sometimes what you see is not what you get in the end, i.e. getting a complete and correct picture.
