A quick correct, serials should be ZJ78x, rather than ZJ79x :)

Is the ramp easily visible here? I always assumed it would be off limits? I assume it's not somewhere you tend to hang around for long?

The ramp is easily viewable along a footpath, old roman road along the south of the base.

Just need to pop up a tree!

I can picture the scene now as I fall out of a tree gripping my pole... With MY reputation? :-)

It really is easy, it's not a difficult climb. I have been in the winter and they can be seen when the trees have no leaves.

I would just like to point out that the MOD Police drive up the Roman road on a regular basis. After a chat and checking our details on my last visit they where happy for us to stay and notified on base security our departure time. It is a public right of way with a lot of dog walkers on a footpath closer to the fence. They would not be happy for photographs to be taken. I make that point as biggles977 who assumed I was photographing. I'm sure if the special forces bases did not want you to look in they would build a suitable obstruction and take adequate precautions! I had ask one of the above what their coded messages meant? Mine roughly translated is all 5 noz in the bag, so no need for a re visit. Pity as there is an excellent curry house in Hereford.

Cheers,

Tim.

Interesting, Scramble 419 has it as recovered from the Loch 19th Dec 13, perhaps just a dunking then? Scramble goes on to say that the serial is confirmed as all the other 4 have been seen in Jan 14.
