Hi all,

I currently have a Sigma 150-500mm with a Canon 7D.

The 500 has been absolutely bomb proof, but it tends to grain out regardless of settings at maximum reach.

Is it worth upgrading to Sigma's 600mm?

I'm not the best at photography but I know how to use a camera as such, so I don't think its user error, I've been using the 500mm for 4 years.

Never got good results with the 150-500. Far better with the 150-600.

Thanks Nighthawke, do you use it with a canon body?

I did - sorry should have said. 6D but then got an EF 100-400 before going mirrorless. Like you I am not the best photographer but happy with it at the time.

Maybe you should also consider the Tamron G2 150 - 600 . I use this on the Canon 70D and have been pleased with the results. The photographic press have highlighted the fact the Tamron has better image quality at the long end of the zoom compared to the Sigma. Although I have never used the Sigma, the 600 end of my Tamron has always been sharp and that's with the 1.6 crop factor of the 70D. There is also less weight to the Tamron compared to the Sigma sport version. Cost is also a consideration. At the moment MPB have an as new version of the Sigma 150- 600 Sport £1099 and an excellent condition Tamron 150 - 600 G2 £949.
