Hi i hope someone can help me i am looking at buying my first DSLR but am a bit confused, i am looking for something around 8-10 mp to use for all round photography. family, etc but i also want the facility to be able to do some airshow photos. now i am looking to spend around £200.
i have found several but am mainly looking at the pentax ist 2, Olympus E400, Sony A100 or Nikon D100. can anybody help me with what lenses i would need for this sort of photography.
i relly fancy the nikon but the lenses are expensive, but i know you get the quality with this camera as i have used the D90 before, can anyone advise me as i am confused.
Regards Daniel

Re: First DSLR on a budget
Daniel,
I have a 75-300mm zoom lense for my Canon and its OK for flying shots at airshows as long as I can get close to the crowd line and the subject's not too small. Ideally you'd probably want a 500mm at least to get better results.

what about teleconvertors?

TCs have an effect on image quality as well as AF - generally 1.4x isn't too bad but 2x is noticeable.
if you could stretch to £300 Comet are selling the Sony A450+18-55mm for £299 which is a bargain for what it offers.
