Never really heard "Togg" before but already dislike it. Nothing can be as bad as "Tiffie" or "Tonka" though...

I wonder if they know about leap years.
I like 24/7, because that's when I get lots of birthday presents.....................................well that's a bit of an exaggeration really.

Jacqueline does remember occasionally though. ;)

I can just about get over someone using the word 'tog' instead of photographer... and 'chimping' was probably one of the first digital photography slang words I came across... However...

I CANNOT STAND the use of the word 'click' instead of photo / photograph / image / picture etc - eg "Here's my click of it" :grr: :@

Having spent 22 years shortening speech using acronymns, abbreviations, etc, it makes no odds to me.

In fact, I'd be half tempted to say that most terms used within our community are mostly service-speak anyway - I know I've been guilty of using service-speak over the years on here without thinking about whether any non-service folks understand what I'm blathering on about......

I still find myself using service-speak at work, and I have to stop myself quite a lot, even though I left the RAF 7 years ago....

That's an acronym, not an abbreviation...

No objections to acronyms or abbreviations per se, except to say it would be useful for those (like me!) who don't know what they mean if a sticky list could be created on the forum.

There's an 'I', a 'S' and an 'O' (in that order) therefore it's an abbreviation.

Actually, I will admit I was wrong. It's an initialism.
initialism (plural initialisms)

A term formed from the initial letter or letters of several words or parts of words, but which is itself pronounced letter by letter.
BBC is an initialism for British Broadcasting Corporation.
ISO is an initialism for the International Organization for Standardization.

Anyway, back on topic...
