Does look to good to be true, so would guess there is a big catch along the line.
http://www.frog-photos.com/lenses/canon ... mm-f4l-usm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for under £300 is very cheap.

Whilst they say they trade from Reading, and have a showroom there, I can't see any reference to an address for it and Google doesn't show anything for that trading name.

Their registered address is 467 High Road Leyton, look at it on Google Streetview.

Frog Photos is a trading style of Online Selling LTD, based in Reading. Our first web site was open and launched in November 1998. Online Selling LTD has been trading since 1835.
the internet is older than I thought!

I would suggest that frog-photos.com be avoided.

Afetr doing some research I've found the following.......

Take a look at the bottom of the frog-photos.com home page where it says "Copyright © 2011 DONTONS, All rights reserved"

Now Google "dontons" and you get the following hit.... http://www.dontons.com/index.php?route=common/home

Hmmmmm, now that website looks familiar........

Now click on the FAQ'S page of the Dontons website and you'll find the following question...... "Why should I buy from Yorkshire Cameras?"

Now Google Yorkshire Cameras - just about all the top hits will be about it being a scam site and it would appear that frog-photos.com is linked - which is why I say avoid!

Also when you google Dontons you'll also see lots of hits relating to that company also being a scam.

Regards

Neil

Who's Martins camera shop?? :O

It must be these
http://www.martinscamerashop.co.uk/about-us-1-w.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So in 2008 Michael Fenton purchased a canon flash and zoom lens 70-200 f4 is from all 3 (so far) online shops

By Michael Fenton Limerick Ireland on 3rd Nov 2008

"This was my first time to use Frog Photos. I found their customer service to be excellent, I was given accurate information regarding delivery times. I was given the opportunity to make changes to the order and the changes were accommodated. I purchased a Canon Flash and a Zoom lens 70-200 f/4 IS USM all delivered to Ireland in perfect condition. My company contact was really helpful.

If you see cheaper items advertised,take a close look at the reviews these companies get, before you make any decision to part with your hard earned. "

How about this one then? :P

I have received and am delighted with my new Nikon D90 DSLR camera.

Your price was competitive, but when you add the quality and friendly service provided by the team Frog Photos, the way that issues are resolved rather than hiding behind rules (you know which retailers I am talking about), and the great communications where instead of me wondering what's happened to my order, Frog Photos is pro-actively keeping me up to date on progress.

Why is it that this shop is so much better at dealing with its customers? I guess it is Big enough to want to retain customers and not just "stack them high and sell them cheap".

I know where I would rather spend my money.

Thank you for yet another great camera. The D90 is still going strong too. A D700 next maybe?

Why is it that this shop is so much better at dealing with its customers? I guess it is small enough to want to retain customers and not just "stack them high and sell them cheap".

Seems he's bought a D300 and 18-200mm, obviously decided 10 months down the line that the D700 just wasn't in his price range, and bought a D90 instead, and then a second D90 a few months later. Still after that D700 though, I see! :whistle:

Martin's Camera Shop are registered with Companies House, at least! http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/214b3 ... ompdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have to jump in here to say that Martins Camera Shop is genuine. I bought my 100-400 L lens from them in 2009 on the recommendation of my sister. She had purchased her 7D and two Canon L lenses from them.
