Is there a method to finding out the total number of exposures taken with a dslr camera - in my case 30D?

Number of shots
Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film.
Re: Number of shots
Hi Mark
When I was researching this, apart from a massive amount of spammy downloads, I found a link which said, take the 3 numbers from your folder name eg 579CANON, the last three numbers of filename within, eg _MG_9001.CR2 This file would be the 579001 shot taken with this camera. This theory works for most of the Canon range DSLR's.
Hope this helps

Do a search for a freeware programme called EOSINFO - certainly worked with my 40D. You just have to plug it into the PC with the standard USB cable it came with.

Sorry but that method is worthless. The image number and folder number can be any value you like within the cameras format. Because:kevster wrote:My Bad... first 2 and last 3, 57001kevster wrote:Hi Mark

- You do not have to use continuous image numbering
- You can create a new folder in camera anytime
- You can manipulate the card outside the camera
etc.

Try the following
Jeffrey's Exif Viewer
http://regex.info/exif.cgi/exif.cgi" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Upload an unedited image via Choose File and then click on View Image from File.
There is a lot of data so do a Control F and enter shutter count to find it.
