OM System battery life

Post by Pune » Thu Aug 14, 2025 6:09 pm

Hi,
I have a couple of OM E-M1 Mk3 bodies with battery pack on each, both have original Olympus batteries but lose charge quite swiftly (compared to my old Canon bodies), I have looked for answers but come up blank, any clues folks.
Thanks for any info'
Cheers

If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Hi Pune I have an em-1x with a pair of oem batteries in and these usually last me a full day on the fence at Coningsby/Waddington. I did have to change a set on the Saturday & Sunday at Fairford.
I do try and resist the temptation to keep looking through my shots on the back of the camera and I don't have the review switched on either. Hth Mick

Thanks for that Mick, good advice, I'll give a few ideas a go and see how it goes.
One thing that seems odd is that the batteries run down even if the camera is switched off 🤔

Does it have WiFi and/or Bluetooth for remote control or image transfer. If so switch it off and if it has an airplane mode switch that on. Same with GPS, all of these features will be live in the background and take trickle charge.

Hi Guys,
Having taken your advice and changed a few settings, it seems to have worked a treat, batteries holding charge well.
Thanks again.
Cheers
