Hi Folks,
Has anyone tried or is using 'Topaz' AI software, I have heard good things but is it as good as it sounds?
Cheers

I used Topaz denoise for quite awhile, but when Lightroom brought out their denoise feature, I haven't gone back to Topaz. Can't comment on the other features that come with Topaz as I haven't used them.

I use it extensively for both aviation and other subjects, really like it as it allows me me to shoot at 6400 with little damage to the image and 12800 as long as you're careful. Will just say it pays to check the image it produces before export to ensure the denoise/sharpening etc. is not over done. Also reasonably happy with the built in object removal but i have to say i've not played as much with this as the rest of the tools

I keep toying with the idea of getting it as I've heard only good things.
Just worried that my five year old PC may not meet the system requirements.

I use Topaz on a 12 year old MAC and it works fine, but I have replaced the hard drives with a SSD ….

Isn't there a free trial version? Give it a go but as said above the built in AI NR in Lightroom is pretty good IMO if used carefully. You can end up with that horrible plastic AI look if you overdo it.

Such a great tool is this software. I find that I get better results if I do this stage first after opening in photoshop before colour adjustments etc. It does have a tendency to occasionally smudge and fade some colours. I often use it for my go to sharpening tool ( even on lower iso’s) and you can then go and reduce its effect with the slider for the desired result.
