Tried to look at Lajes Air Base on Google Earth,a while ago..it's all blanked out!!.

..Pete,if you type into your computer Lajes Air Base or Lajes Field and have a mess around,theres one of the locals,who has a lot of photos of visiting aircraft over the years,it looks like a right place for spotting!!!!!!!...regards Lowlevel (Tim).

Muchas gracias tim. That place gets some top notch visitors, but I still think it will be an issue of right place right time. I'm looking into a trip there as I speak :0)

Used to get a report from there in the MAR mag when i used to get it.
Looks cracking on paper but like Mildenhall transient traffic comes and go.
Pete your right on the right time right place.
Another base which looks good to is Deci in Italy with lots of stuff generally using the base for detachment
