also was Buckeye just a drive up or is prior permission required ?

Hi Phil,

Luke was for the airshow - see full log here: viewtopic.php?f=147&t=158009

Buckeye was a new one for me, jusy happened across it as I was returning back to Phoenix from Yuma. And, yes, amazingly it was simply a drive up with no security or other restrictions stopping you from getting up close to these beautiful old planes. I'll get some pics up in W&R later today.

If you are in Phoenix over a weekend then the Arizona Military Museum is open Sat and Sun afternoons - it has a preserved huey inside, and it's on Papago Army Airfield, home to Arizona Army NG Blackhawks
