My 28th Northolt Night Shoot, I only missed the one in March because of a train strike. Liked the new horseshoe layout as there appeared to be more room and everybody seemed to be spread out more. There were more angles to photograph than when they were parked in a straight line, and it wasn’t quite a bun fight for space during the engine runs.

Must remember when shooting in uncompressed RAW that a 32GB SD card does not have a big enough capacity. I did have a spare card but left it in the hotel room. Only thing I missed was the Hercules leaving but I caught all that last year.

Many thanks to Phil and the volunteers, RAF Northolt service and civilian personnel and the visiting aircrews without whom there wouldn’t be much to night shoot. In the order taken.

All hand held with a Sony α7C/24.2MP (47MP uncompressed RAW) full-frame camera with a Tamron 28-200mm F/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD lens.

Thanks for sharing these with us, very atmospheric and some nice shots too.

Superb set. Particulary liking #12 with the tres Gallic pilot looking straight at the camera. All he needs is a Gauloise to complete the stereotype!
