Was it ever. I'm still going through the majority of my pictures and I've got rid of so many that lack contrast or are just ruined cos of the heat.

Lovely images in what was awful light for photography.

I've been without a lens for aviation photography for a few years now and was scanning all sorts of websites to get one in time for Cosford - then I remembered where the sun usually is and decided I didn't need to worry my bank manager that week!

Anyway, great job!

Great photos. Yes, the heat was unbelievable and my photos suffered a bit from it.

Hi Neil,

I glad others found it difficult I thought it was just me..... it's a nightmare when the sun is always behind the display line. I bought a Sigma 150 - 600 C a few years ago and that has been my mainstay of my wildlife and aviation photography so I can recommend that when you actually pull the trigger on a new lens.

Hi Dave,

The heat was punishing, I was quite glad to get into the car and put the air con on. The amount of pictures I'm deleting is staggering and some of them are not my fault.

No idea what the serial of the NH90 was but I know it was the one that hopped over to the other side of the airfield to refuel, if you caught that, I was in the Whittle Chalet so missed it.

I've checked my film of it. It was marked as RN-02 on the nose. No other numbers visible.

That is the serial.

A little note for the OP. The first part of the set from Falcons to u/s of the PR. Spit' is duplicated. On the subject of light & heat I would also add content!
Your shots are the best you could have captured in that location! That's why I used to visit the Cricket Club on show-day & don't go to Cosford any longer.

My Nikon 200-500 packed up because of the heat. Now I'm in Rome where it is due to be even hotter this weekend- oh dear!

Some great shots there, just a quick question could anyone confirm that one of the Swiss F-5's has a registration reading J-3080?

Yeah, that is correct. J-3080 is one of the F5s. I think it's the jet that had it's nose cone knocked off the week after Cosford.

Just looked at the pictures from RAF Cosford and J-3080 did not take part in the display.

So far I have been able to get the following:

J-3081
J-3083
J-3084
J-3085
J-3090
J-3091

These can be all seen on the picture below.
