Re: Caper at RIAT 2022
Thanks for sharing these, some stunning shots there. I thought that there were some outstanding items there, some of which won't be around next year. The GAF A340 was an interesting exhibit, but days must be numbered as they acquire A350s. Having visited Koln airport a few times in recent years, I'd seen them both many times. But there were some rarely seen types, but some surprising ones missing. As one of the themes was training, no Belgian SF260 or Dutch PC7 for instance. But I suppose they've got to watch their spending, but it was good to see those Portuguese Epsilon's make the long journey to Fairford.
Re: Caper at RIAT 2022
A very nice set of photos wish l could have been there.

Great set, thanks for sharing..
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

Re: Caper at RIAT 2022
Cracking set of images , well done.
Unable to get there this year in person, have had to do with the odd live stream and the posting of photos on this forum, which has somewhat made up for my disappointment.
I think you have captured the flavour and variety of types taking part very well.
Thanks

Absolutely awesome photos!!! There was some real nice aircraft and perfect weather to get some cracking shots this year
Re: Caper at RIAT 2022
Excellent set containing some colourful anniversary schemes. Particularly liking the 350 Sqn. one with the Gaul's head!

Do like the starboard side on that AMX, shame I didn't get to catch that side. Great set of photos, thanks for posting these.

As per my previous post, another excellent selection of images, all of which are framed perfectly. Hard to pick a favourite.
.Are these taken in the vicinity of the FRIAT enclosure?

Re: Caper at RIAT 2022
Thanks everyone for the kind comments.
Hi Phantomwolf, all of the Saturday shots from the EF-18 onwards and the last posted batch of departures are all from the FRIAT enclosure. We were lucky this year that the E-4B and A340 both went out on 09 departures, so were airborne for us, we were just about on the 6000 feet marker from 09, which means 4000 feet from 27 end, the E-4 would still be trundling past on the deck.
Just a shame the new hangars are interfering with some low level departures from the enclosure this year, I can't see them swapping us for the public grandstand, as we are so conveniently placed to get in and out on Monday departures from blue gate.

Re: Caper at RIAT 2022
Thanks for clarifying your shooting position.
Only taken shots from the FRIAT grandstand on one occasion , many moons ago(pre digital, using the good old Kodachrome 64) and found it quite difficult panning in close proximity to other photographers as well as quite a bit of movement on there causing camera shake. That's my excuse for my efforts anway.
Any chance of some static shots?

Re: Caper at RIAT 2022
Nice. I know it's civilian, but I liked the 727 shot. Out of interest, it was the last 727 built.

Re: Caper at RIAT 2022
Thanks for posting some shots of aircraft in the static.
Another top notch selection of shots- hard to pick a favourite..
I would be dead chuffed if I had come away from the show with such a great batch of subjects, some of which will not grace our shores very much longer.
Thanks again for your posts.
