Moravia Night shoot 7 Nov
Posted: Sun Nov 07, 2021 9:20 pm
Another night shoot and my first at the Moravia Aviation Museum at Kinloss.
It was well worth the two and half hour drive for the three and a half hours that I spent photographing the collection by night.
The weather wasn't great, a wee but breezy and I lost some pictures due to the effects of guerilla rain showers but generally it stayed dry long enough to get the job done.
Thanks to everyone that made the event possible.
HA-MKE An-2, almost military, show under natural light. A failure as by the time that I figured out the exposure the clouds had drifted over and obscured the plough constellation.

XH563 Vulcan, taken towards the end of the evening, ambient light with a touch of blue in-fill ambient light but the shadow of the Jaguar made the shot for me.

XJ380 Sycamore. Lit from the street lamps beyond and yellow "sodium" effect lights on the Jaguar. Black and white seemed the best choice.

XR528 Wessex. Backlit flood lights with ambient sodium lights, with a couple of museum volunteers in the background

XZ113 Jaguar. The most productive aircraft of the night. Natural light, possibly sodium

XZ113, ambient sodium lights so another candidate for black and white, with a bit of dodging on the fuselage

XZ592 Sea King. Sodium lights, another candidate for a black and white conversion

XH821 Merlin. The first of the set pieces, this one was taken after the flood lights were moved to the Wessex, ambient light with just a touch of fill-in light from a torch.

Everyone - take a bow. A long shot while I was up photographing the An-2
