For some reason, editing last year's RIAT shots seemed to take an age!  Finally managed to finish posting the departures and processing to Flickr, so I'll add my best bunch here. Was a great departures day in 2019, with Harriers, MiGs, B-52 (my first) and some stylish departures too, definitely one of my favourite RIAT days :thumb:

There is something about enthusiastic F-15 departures. All the way from the Cambrai Tiger meet (1985?) to these shots from last year. #28 for me - blown up to poster size.

Nice photography, some great catches there just above the runway.

Is it just me or anyone else think jets always look better in normal camo instead of those 'special tail fin' schemes?

Thanks Cyberfox! I do agree in some parts, but I think sometimes it's nice to see something different with variety :)

Nice set James.

So for 2020, two options - 1. Start your editing far earlier, or 2. Take less photos!

All the best
Roger

Cracking set there James :thumb:
Is it not strange when you look at other peoples shots how close you were stood next to them.
I must have been literally feet away from you.
I've just finish editing Cobra Warrior shots, RIAT next
All the best
Andy

Yeah I always wondered that as well, we must have been! I was right down the West End of the FRIAT enclosure last year...Not sure where I am yet for this year!
Haha, they always rack up and it's finding the time to do it all

Good pics must have been taken further up from departures enclosure park , the lower end for depatures was very poor most of the aircraft just climbed away no recognition of the crowd at that end , very poor 1 Rob

Thanks Rob. Yeah this was from the FRIAT grandstand, so pretty much centre line. That's a shame you didn't get much luck down that end.

Thanks mate!! Oh no :( Yeah it was always touch and go, spoke with the crew Sunday and their full intentions were to leave Monday morning, but they were told they would have to wait until everything was out the way and gone before they could be towed out to start. It was within the last hour that they started her up and she didn't taxi until well after the enclosure should have "closed". Hopefully this year! :thumb:
