RIAT volunteering on the fuels team

Post by stuart n » Sun Aug 04, 2019 4:08 pm

I was back on the fuels team at RIAT this year after having to drop out last year. You're never quite sure where your next tasking will be during the week but luckily I was on the apron with the Ukrainians as the Flanker displayed on Saturday. The crew were very friendly and happy to let us have a close up look at the mighty Flanker:

Just about caught the water arch salute for Moro on the Sunday:

Monday's taskings included supporting the Turkish F-4E's who had to refuel on the North side after a long hold. We finally got them home.

Lovely stuff.

Did 13 years on the Aircraft Engineering Team myself, so I appreciate the "view from within", as it were.

Always enjoyed the banter on the radio between Eng Ops and Fuels!

Cheers.
