Stunning Belgian Schemes!

NATO E-3 is also in, but not the special scheme we all wanted. As it's rumoured to be broke. Drat!

Swiss Hornet has just given a superb rehearsal, ahead of the arrival of the USAFE F-15E Strike Eagle.

TomTwin - Thank you for posting some absolutely stunning images and keeping this so updated! It's appreciated as I won't be down till tomorrow, but there are so many fantastic special tails this year! :thumb:

Am liking all the special schemes so far which will hopefully show up the RAF's current penchant for small stickers. We're definitely going to be the plane Janes of the event!

Some stunning rehearsals just now from the Belgian F-16 and the Finnish F/A-18C Hornet. Definitely not to be missed!

Also, Red Arrows just rehearsed with a VIP in the back, Major Tim Peake!

Very nice shots.
However I'm finding the watermark particularly obtrusive. Any chance you can tone it down a bit.

That’s all from us this year on the Live Arrivals feed, meeting up with some friends in Totterdown tomorrow and won’t be able to provide a live thread for arrivals.

It’s been a pleasure to provide it for those unable to attend or going later in the week, and we really do appreciate the feedback.

Let’s all have a cracking RIAT! Yes the weather tomorrow looks dicier than a badly cooked kebab, but it’s our biggest event of the year, our Christmas, our Glastonbury, and our Aviation Olympics. Let’s just go and have fun and a laugh!

Cheers,

Tom

Thanks for the great photos - enjoy the weekend! We're there for just Saturday this year but despite the weather forecast would love to be there for more :)

Met Office is, on average, more accurate than most. Seems better than the gloomier ones quoted on the forum.

Some nice images .... pretty much ruined for the ridiculously OTT watermark... i am all for leaving a watermark on images but these are way too much - if your so concerned, post smaller lesser resolution images

Chris, I disagree. For what he's posting - which is a photo-log of the RIAT Arrivals/rehearsals I think the watermark is perfectly acceptable. Too many news agencies these days sniping photos to take the risk.

Cheers for the feedback Chris. The reason the watermark was the way it was originally shown was that in the last year or so, myself and Jack have seen a large amount of our images lifted and the watermark cropped out. Very frustrating as the people doing this should know better.

Despite that, we have had feedback on the watermark and, if you look at the Red Arrows shots in particular, those images are toned down. Hopefully this is more for your liking, please say again if it isn’t.

You can embed your copyright details into the image exif, which saves messing around with watermarks.

However due to the nature of the pictures/event, I don’t find the watermark overly intrusive.

Very nice images posted, and I'm all for the watermark as it is. Too many images are ripped off now, so I like seeing people protecting their work. If I see an image that I'd like to use (perhaps as a desktop background), I could always contact the photographer and ask.

Thank you for the kind words regarding the thread.

We understand we can’t please everybody, but the only reason the watermark was so prominent is due to the fact that we have had a lot of people steal our work over the last year or so, many by cropping the watermark out. If everyone did as you noted and asked permission to use an image, we wouldn’t have to do it. Shame really.

Going back to the water mark issue I really don't have a problem with putting a logo on them but a discrete one that does not detract from the actual content - another point is that these are at RIAT which we will see ten thousand similar images - if it was an exclusive photo shoot I could understand it, but at a public event having bold logo splashed right through the image is OTT

I use airteamimages to distribute my images and they have a good system where they have a 600 pixel without any logo but if the client/customer wants to see a larger image they then put a watermark on it albeit very discreetly

and lets be honest here any one who really wants to steal the image would take all of 5 minutes to remove the logo in photoshop - I recently had an image stolen and posted on a forum and when i confronted him about it his response was eff off.. I always embed the exif in the image - and as such does not detract the image in anyway
