Welcome to the Jungle - LIMA19
Welcome to the Jungle - LIMA19
Hi All,
The flanker once again luring me to far away places, this time Malaysia focusing on the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition - LIMA for short. My main hope was to see exotic jets against an exotic backdrop, probably quality over quantity. What unfolded that week surpassed all expectations.
The Royal Malaysian Airforce pulling no punches, whether it was because it was the 25th addition, lack of another visiting display team or just peak serviceable jets I'm not sure but it was great to see so much of their air force in one trip and the weather was perfect. The opening gambit is a truly explosive 10 minutes of action like I've never seen before and this time the fighters operated from Langkawi itself!
On with the show...

I' m pretty good with words usually, but basically what the previous posts have said! Best shots for a long while - and not just for the rarity either.
Just one question - is shot no.3 genuine or "photoshopped"?

Mate, you were certainly saving the best ones to post on here! First shot is just wonderful, but that was a tough choice!

Stunning imagery! Wow.
Re: Welcome to the Jungle - LIMA19
To be honest they are over processed for my taste, you have a lovely set of shots, they did not need that much in my opinion? sorry
Re: Welcome to the Jungle - LIMA19
Cheers everyone for the feedback, glad you enjoyed the shots, it was a special trip / event for sure and that really hit home when putting the set together. To answer a couple of questions:
Thanks again everyone
It's genuine, i had a lot of focal length but you will find similar shots online that take in more of the formation, it was when two a400's were crossing in the background and the high levels of compression made them appear a lot closer than they were.Nighthawke wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 7:23 pmI' m pretty good with words usually, but basically what the previous posts have said! No need to apologise, processing is a personal taste, the only thing I would add is that compared to my eye while there, the images i presented are an accurate representation when considering the action and uniqueness of the photographic opportunities.
Thanks again everyone

Wow! They are mega stunning
I particularly like the opening RMAF Hornet - it looks low and very fast
Shots like these are inspiring - when is the next Langkawi show? I want to go!
(Edit : LIMA 2021)
