It seemed rude not to see the Japanese Display Team 'Blue Impulse' whilst in Japan so we spent a day and a half at the Airshow. Both days were spent outside as the fist day is for locals only and the second day inside would have meant shooting into the sun. It was a nice little show with great displays from the Eagle and Phantom from Gifu. The Blue Impulse look good but are not at the standard of many of the European teams. It was good to see the C-2, E-767 and KC-767J.

Thanks, Japan is a great military aviation location with lots of air, marine and army flying bases. Access is easy for most bases as long as you have some steps. Locals are helpful with info and are friendly. Traffic around Tokyo is crazy but you need to travel around to get the most of it. Accom is cheapish at around £40 for a room per night. Do it if you can, it's really worth it.

Lovely selection and presentation.
I enjoyed the sequence of the Blue Impulse, along with the cheeky Phantom.

Thanks.. I enjoyed the chance to take them. The cheeky Phantom was from the Test Sqn at Gifu and was flown by a test pilot. The Eagle was also from Gifu and flown by a test pilot too. The Eagle was very impressive.reheat module wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 11:26 amLovely selection and presentation.
