Take a line up of classic and modern fast jets, plus a few prop display teams, add the Swiss mountains and you've got the Breitling Sion Air Show. Its the first time the show's been staged since 2011 and it did not disappoint one bit with all sorts to see framed by the stunning scenery around. Whilst we had tickets for the show days it was decided that two of the days should be spent on the surrounding mountain sides to try to capture the backdrops as best we could. This was mainly due to there being a 500ft restriction on the flying display heights which would have meant a lot of the displays would be against the sky instead of the mountains from the actual base itself. A lot of time spent studying maps and a bit of luck meant some of the passes were just perfect, although some were still a long way away. Here's just a small selection which I'll more than likely add to over the coming days (you have been warned ).
Not every image has to be aircrAft in full frame and these just prove that theory. Always lovely to see the wider picture when you have scenery like that. Incredible
