10 days in the Cotswolds - Large Post

Post by Duncan Disorderley » Mon Aug 24, 2015 9:29 pm

Arranged the family holiday for the Cotswolds this year, it just happened to coincide with RIAT. Spent the Friday and Sunday on Rhymes and Saturday on base.

Still going through the 4000 shots, but I've processed a fair few now. You'll probably notice that i'm having some trouble with banding on some shots when I've resized the image to 1200px, resized in PS CS6 in 500 px increments.

Friday, spent the day in Rhymes with pwingrove (Phil), a grey day but some superb vapour especially in the morning.

Hope you don't mind me asking but what hardware do you use (camera, lens etc)
Because viewing on my iPad and they are Crystal....
Most were shot on a Nikon D7200 with a 400mm f2.8, the static shot was a D3 with 24-70 f2.8 and the flying shots from the airfield were D7200 with a 70-300 f4-5.6. All processed in PS CS6. I hope that helps.

Wow, they have to be some of the best shots I have seen of RIAT this year, just really startin some aviation pics, clearly my Lumix Micro 4/3rds has a long way to go !

Also are these handheld or on tripod ?

Simply stunning....
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!

They are all hand held. I don't use a tripod much, just for long exposure shots, mainly landscapes.

Hi Darren :P

You, sir, are a star ;)

Simply stunning images, and I, for one, do NOT care what processing, post-shot, you used :)

You may get some negative comments from the usual suspects, but ignore them totally :D

Superb post: THE best I have seen from RIAT (IMHO)

Best regards and thanks for sharing

They are definitely some of the best Photographs I've seen on this site. Can you give me a little more info on how you used 'Photo-Shop' to give them that kind of 'sinister' quality (I mean that in a good way). Absolutely amazing stuff, well done.....
