Hi,Can anyone tell me if it is still ok to view/photograph from outside the base if you have advised pao and given details for security.I have emailed pao but not received reply.Would be grateful for any info.

Hi Peter, I have photographed from outside the base on many occasions without any problems, I never contact the PAO here as they expect people outside the perimeter fence, especially when the Blue Angels are getting ready for the show season (February - March). Just remember not to walk up to the fence to shoot through the fence, a 3 step ladder will really help AND if it rains, get off the dirt track straight away.

Also worth adding that El Centro doesn't have any permanently based aircraft, so it's quite variable. I've been and the ramp has been empty (so drive for an hour and go to Yuma instead), and other times it's been very busy.
On the weather front, I've had very windy weather and it can be extremely hot - take plenty of water!

Thanks for advise David.I have visited El Centro before in 2016 it was just that I had no response from pao re advising security which I did in 2016.Will Also be visiting Yuma again this time.
