Whilst on a tour around the island we stopped at Kaneohe Bay. The F4 and Neptune on the gate are visible from the main road and there are several state parks/scenic lookouts that give decent if very distant views of the base. Despite it being a Sunday there appeared to be quite a lot of activity.

The Marines here have just received their first four MV-22s all of which were outside on the ramp. There were also seven CH53s, four UH1s and a couple of AH1s on the ramp.

168007 MV-22 - serial taken from the picture on the front page of the local paper that accompanied the story welcoming the Ospreys to Hawaii!

These two choppers flew over us while we were on the beach. They headed out to sea to rendevous with a Navy vessel for some training.
168401 AH-1
‘33’ UH-1

Cheers,

James
