Post by Gary » Fri Jun 01, 2018 10:15 am

Taken from the Čáslav facebook page and translated, some Texan F-16s (182d Fighter Squadron /149th Fighter Wing Texas ANG )coming to Europe. Lets hope they come via the uk, rather than the more likely route the Azores
On June 18 - 29, 2018, the Czech Air Force Tactical Air Force under the title Sky Avenger 2018 will be held at the 21st Air Force Base of the Czech Army. The JAS-39 Gripen and L-159 ALCA airplanes from the Czechoslovak Base helicopters Mil Mi-24/35 and Mi-171 from the 22nd Helicopter Air Base at Náměšť nad Oslavou. The United States of America to the Czech Republic issues the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the participation of two KC-135 tankers.

"Arrivals of F-16 and KC-135 are scheduled for Friday, June 15, Monday, June 18, we start the exercise with introductory briefings and the first flight will be in the afternoon," explains Tomas Mert, a senior management executive. Within the two-week exercise, primary airspace facilities will be used in the south
and northeast Bohemia.

The base is also open to airline supporters at Spotters Day. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 20, 2018. From the morning, visitors will be able to visit the registered spot, the shooting will be organized 100 meters from the take-off and runway. Viewers can look forward to take-offs and landings of American F-16 Fighting Falcon Texas National Guard guards, as well as to the training of KC-135 Nebra National Guard. From the parent base, the Czech JAS-39 Gripen supersonic machines and the L-159 ALCA light aircrafts will also join missions. Spotters Day will require accreditation.

Media representatives will then be able to accredit to Media Day on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. During the visit, they will be able to look behind the scenes. During the morning, interviews with control exercises and officials of the Czech Army, as well as exercisers themselves, will be possible.

Sky Avenger 2018 will be held on the basis of years of cooperation with Nebra and Texas National Guard. A total of 6 F-16s will be joined by a training base from the Caslav base. "In addition to maneuvering aerial fights and co-operation with forward-looking air guides, exercises will also be focused on missions with complex scenarios," adds Merta. The KC-135, which will operate from Pardubice Airport, will use mission-fighter missions to co-ordinate Composite Air Operations (COMAO) for in-flight refueling.

The exercise program is planned in two blocks. In the morning, missions will be conducted according to a complex scenario, and in the afternoon, missions will focus on maneuvering aerial combat and direct air support tasks.

A similar exercise took place at the Caslav base last time in 2009. Czech fighters and colleagues from the Lone Star Gunfighters squadron from San Antonio also waged aerial fights and simulated shocks to ground targets.

Cooperation between the Czech Army and Nebra and Texas National Guard was established in 1993, when its primary objective was to help the Czech Army in preparation for NATO entry. Within the framework of years of cooperation, joint exercises are held in the Czech Republic or Texas. Exchange of experience also takes place, for example, in command and control, cyber defense, destruction of explosive devices, or protection against weapons of mass destruction
